"I like to think of sales as the ability to gracefully persuade,
not manipulate, a person or persons into a win-win situation."

... Up Until Now

By Scott V. Black

So much information is presented and lived during the 2.5 days in Leadership Awakening that most people only remember the most “impactful” experiences. These usually include the “Eulogy,” “Leader in Life,” the first half of the final, the “circle” process, nurturing… those processes create what we call an “imprint” and they are points of “Shifting.”

One of the incredible benefits that come from staffing, in addition to giving back, is that people get a chance to re-experience Leadership Awakening and they realize how much they missed. I have had people tell me that when they staff their first Awakening they got more out of the process than when they went through as a student. This is another reason that we encourage people to go on staff. It is “Awakening II,” without all the pressure. This article is not a sales pitch to donate your time to staff, however you will get far more out of it than you can even imagine.

Awakening's “Hidden” Ideas Revealed

Today I want to talk about some of the pieces that we inject into the process during the share in module 2. That first morning of Leadership Awakening when some of the first significant shifts start to take place, we stop to talk about our thinking. We have finished the second speech on our six words, we have just won… “FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS” and the trainer pulls up a chair and says, “Can we talk…” You hear the trainer, and see the trainer as a human being for the first time and at the wrap up of that module we cover three ideas. The part that most people remember is the “TRY” word. However that is a just one of a few important ideas we cover. Most of the other things covered are lost, tossed or just forgotten.

I want to bring to your attention the ideas we bring up and explain how critically important they are. For example...

Making a Difference: Trish Kannady, Team 482

I planned and carried out a surprise sleepover for my mother-in-law's birthday on Feb. 2nd. I arranged for her two sons, daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren to arrive at her house with sleeping bags, dinner, and breakfast in tow.

She was completely surprised and happy. What she's been asking for is more time with her family, so this was the perfect opportunity. It was a labor of love, since it was a lot of togetherness, and she gets up at 5am daily!! She will be able to talk about her surprise with all of her friends for a long time to come. She seemed very appreciative and thankful.

It felt good to give her something that she really wanted. I love to get the perfect gift, and haven't been able to figure out something great in quite some time-until now!

Thanks for a wonderful class. I use my tools daily! "Live everyday like it matters and it WILL!"

P.S. We've got another friend graduating on Sat. It's so awesome!
