"On the GO"
By Scott V. Black
Hello Empower U Leadership Team… What a great YEAR To be Alive!!!
I trust that you are putting in place the
pattern for a great 2008. For me personally, and for Empower U, we are laying the
pattern for a historical 2008. Thank you for taking time out of your busy life
to improve who you are and what you do. I do enjoy this time of reflection,
education and realization.
Today I want to revisit the “Go Button.” I have been thinking a lot about this
“Go Button” idea. I have written articles, I have done trainings, I have given
speeches… all talking about the GO button. Follow along if you will. I just got back
from a great training/speaking trip that included 5 trainings or speeches over a span of 15 days in 4 cities, and 2 countries! And
through all that, I was talking about the GO Button.
The Odyssey...
This is how great my 2008 has been! Follow along if you will… Starting
on Jan 3-5, I got the chance to be with a great team in Sacramento. 16
individuals became Team 515 and are taking their lives to a whole new level.
Five days later I turned around in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas and helped 23
individuals become Team 517. With almost 40 people in ten days I GOT the
opportunity to share in their lives and their missions.
That was a nice beginning to this incredibly successful, deeply introspective journey to launch 2008. After 1 day off to reflect on God’s greatness, I
GOT to get back on an airplane for a 4 day, two event trip. I flew to Montreal,
Canada and spent the night and day with a great team from Johnson and Johnson.
We had some fun and we spent some time talking about the GO Button. I then had
the chance to fly to Orlando and do a couple of keynote speeches for the
AGM—Association of Golf Marketers. They were doing an event tied in with the PGA
and I had the opportunity to inspire a few hundred people… and we too talked
about the GO Button. It seems this button is on my mind a lot these days.
Two reasons for this mental occupation are quite clear to me. First, this GO
button is somehow connected to Motivation. Motivation is the reason why people
do things…

The Adventure of a Lifetime!
Are you still waiting to complete the process you started in
Awakening? Haven't made the commitment to go through Leadership
Adventure yet?
We could tell you stories all day long about the amazing
personal breakthroughs Adventure graduates have. But instead,
listen to their words about the gains they've made...
"Adventure certainly took things to a whole new level for me... I really
'got' Awakening from taking Adventure...
"I like to tell people it was Anthony Robins meets Survivor."
~ Eric Bradley, Adventure Team 136

"Until I completed Adventure I had not realized the
disservice I was doing myself by not completing the process.
Awakening is only a very small part of the big picture.
Until completing Adventure it was as though I possessed a
winning lottery ticket which I could not or would not cash.
I could look at my ticket and instantly recall rush of
excitement at winning my millions however I stopped short of
cashing it.
"Two years after enthusiastically participating in my
own Awakening I chose to take one the numerous opportunities
offered to me and attended Adventure.
"Rest assured now that I’ve cashed my winning ticket
my
want to do a good job NOW has a where, when and for whom and
my desire for building a future NOW has a plan, materials &
a crew of skilled builders with a powerful and fearless
leader."
~ Brandy Holmes,
Adventure Team 193
|
"Just got back tonight from Adventure! WOW... it
really does take you from 26 to 100. That is no
exaggeration!
"I strongly urge you all to go.
You will take all those tools from Awakening and use
them like you have never used them before.
"It was a rewarding weekend. Jeff
and I are doing great. Each day I am excited to come
home and spend quality time with him. Take a deep
breath and be glad you are ALIVE, I know I am."
~ Valerie Hoffman, Adventure

Leadership Awakening Feedback
By
Mike Cino, Team 515
More than anything I just wanted to
thank you again for showing me what I had in myself
and how to apply it every single day of my life. I
will lean on my support team to better my growth and
I will be there for them, helping and guiding them
through this journey they have also chosen.
I will finish typing and posting my Mission
Statement this morning. It will be placed wherever I
am, it may even become my background on my laptop
screen (being that I spend so much time staring at
it). As I said, a quick note!
I am 100% committed to myself, my family, my
friends, my job and my life and everything I do,
from Saturday January 5th, 2008 until they put me in
that box! I will make a difference. There is an I in
TEAM. Do I have a long road ahead of me? I hope so,
because I will embrace it, every step of the way, I
have just started.
Someone once said, "You are who you hang out with".
What better people to hang out with, then the people
that have the same goals as you do, and the people
who have sent me across your path. I have thanked
Tom and Maria Balbierz several times on the way home
and since we have been home. They are, great
friends. What better way to thank them then to share
this journey with them.
I cannot thank you enough.
From the bottom of my heart, God Bless you and your
children and the process you have brought forward. |

Making a Difference -
Jaclyn Dunn, Team 503 |

We all get those emails that were forwarded to our
mail box. Some say to pass along or you'll have bad
luck for 7 yrs. Others are jokes, some raunchy some
clean, some religious or political.
Generally I hit
the delete button prior to even reading the content
but recently I received one that was originated by
Xerox. They had set up a system which allowed us to
view different cards created by children. They
displayed their art work of American flags, solders,
the Statue of Liberty and so on.
I was able to pick
a card and send my very own special message in it. I
wouldn't know directly who it was going to but it
would be someone in the armed forces fighting for
our country over seas. I was able to thank this
soldier for fighting for our freedom, my freedom. I
don't always agree with our country being at war but
I do think it's nice for total strangers to fight
for me and my safety.
The war has been going on for
years and I have never thought about thanking any
soldier for the sacrifice he or his other troops are
giving us. As I started to write, I became very
emotional which struck me as weird for I had never
met the person I was writing to.
After hitting send
I felt very good about this, It was such a simple
act for me. I realized how nice it will make a
soldier feel when he receives mail and opens up a
card that has been colored by a child with a message
of THANK YOU in it. Perhaps he could be having a
horrible day and feel like he has lost all hope and
start to question his position over there, but maybe
my card of thanks will recharge his batteries and
get him through the day.
As I mentioned earlier, I
usually hit delete when I receive fwd. emails and if
I do read them, I rarely pass them on. I tend to
have the notion that I shouldn't overload my friends
emails with silly forwards, especially if I haven't even
taken the time to send them a personal email from
me. I had to pass this on, I took out the word FWD.
on the subject line and I re-titled it, "It's OKAY
to say THANKS".
I haven't heard back from anyone that I forwarded that to
but hopefully at least one person took the time to
read it and create a card. After all no matter what
your stance is on the war the guys that are fighting
it are people too, they have loved ones at home
praying for their well being everyday. It was such a
simple task for me to do and yet I felt soooooo
great about it. Almost too good, I guess that's what
it means by Givers Gain. |
