"Any Good Movements Lately?"By Scott V. Black Good day Empower U Leadership Team. The renaissance is continuing. It is an exciting time to be doing what we do. There are so many exciting changes going on. While changes continue to take place around me, I am most excited about the changes going on in me. In the Audio Book I am listening to, Speaker, Jim Rohn shares with us one of the keys to living a successful life, “Work harder on yourself than you do on your job.” Working hard on your job will get you a living. Working harder on yourself will create you a legacy. Those of you out there taking this journey with the individuals of Empower U and the Organism that is becoming Empower U International, I am sure the excitement of your journey is exhilarating at times. As you continue this new path, on this journey of being a Leader Under Construction Fear and Doubt will creep in. That is their job, to stop us. There are many people out there that don’t do their jobs well or with diligence, unfortunately, Fear and Doubt do not fall into that category. Look around the world and there is a lot of uncertainty, a lot of confusion, a lot of unhappiness, a lot of lost people… There are many people out there waiting for someone, anyone to give them permission to live their life like it matters. If not you, then who? If not now, then when? Where We Are NowI would like to update you on the changes taking place and this article will be your guide for the newsletter, which is your map. Since you are part of the renaissance, since we are all part of the team, the same cause; it is important for me to keep you up to date on where we are at on our journey, so that we can assist each other at certain times. So strap in and pay attention… there is a lot of changing going on. One of the keys I am learning to turning things around is to do what needs to be done today, while putting in the places for the bigger vision of tomorrow. We need to be building from both ends of the bridge to bring it together somewhere in the middle. Website UpdateSince the last newsletter the new website is on line. It is an exciting new way for people to learn about Empower U and it is also a great resource for our graduates to get connected and stay connected. Please we need your help. We want to create the best site available. To this end we want your input and your critique. What do you like, what don’t you like? How maneuverable is the site, can you find what you are looking for? What other things would you like on the site? We need and want your input to create this website, that someday will help us put butts in chairs. It all comes back to helping people live better lives, when we do that others are going to want what they have. So they sign up and put their butt in one of our chairs and the journey of ‘Being the Best of the Best” begins for another. So please get on the website, www.EmpowerU.net, look around and then email us your input. One of the best things we can do for any graduate is to put other graduates around them! You can’t make it through Leadership Awakening or Adventure by yourself, so why are you attempting to do it on your own in your life? We want a website that facilitates… “People getting connected and keeping connected!” There are two other things I want to bring to your attention. These are important pieces of the Renaissance...
Introducing The Renaissance TeamToday meet Dennis Huff, President of Empower U. We asked Dennis to say a few words introducing himself to the Empower U family. Please welcome Dennis to the Empower U Leadership Team. Now, here's Dennis: Dear Readers, Hello and welcome. My name is Dennis L. Huff . I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. Forget all the formalities and background bio for now. As time progresses you will get to know more about me. What is most important are the events leading to my accepting this position with EmpowerU. I am honored to have worked with numerous companies over the years and always remember the leadership traits and principles embedded in my heart, body and soul as a US Marine. As the years progressed, I travelled the globe opening and building companies as an owner and consultant. As a Leader, I have always held firm to the need for personal development on a constant and never-ending basis. I always remember one of my mentors of years past stating, “If you want to know what kind of leader you are, it’s very simple, just look behind you and see who’s following!” Building companies is about building teams and those core relationships are the key element in any successful venture. My Uncle gave me a communications course as a gift where I met Scott Black in 1994. Something special happened and we continued to stay in touch. Over the years I have sent upwards of 100 people through Leadership Awakening and other Empower U continuing education courses. Scott and I always talked and dreamed of having the opportunity to work together. I believe very deeply in the life-changing curriculum offered here at Empower U. This last December of 2007 our minds met at the same time, at the same place, for the same purpose. Now, after all these years we are collaborating to bring about this amazing renaissance to be the best of the best with focus and commitment to accelerate our activities and create a global presence as no other company has ever done. By combining both our backgrounds and experience, we plan on launching this company to newfound heights thanks to individuals and corporations such as you. Our success is anchored by our ability to organize the efforts of others and motivate clients, associates and employees to achieve extraordinary results at unusually high levels on an International scale. I am most excited by and welcome the challenge of being President. My primary goal is to bring more team members on board in order to facilitate substantial growth over the next couple of years… This includes:
The challenge is great. The benefits of improving human life through our unique innovative training benefits families and corporate culture is an awesome way. We will become the company known for proactive resolution in the volatile world and bring families back to the core values needed for our future generations. I would also like to reach out to every graduate! We will be publishing detailed business plans and prospectus very soon with more detail as to how companies and individuals can participate in our accelerated growth. The time is now! Are You Part of the 3%?The people you surround yourself with have a lot to do with your success. In fact some people believe that you will never rise above the quality of the people you hang out with. In other words, you are only as good as the people you associate with. I want to associate with like-minded people, people who are committed to being the “best of the best.” People that are committed to being better every day… better parents, bosses, co-workers, spouses… better human beings. On Wednesday May 7th, we will kick off our first ever “3% club” in Sacramento, California. Since—UP UNTIL NOW—Sacramento represents the largest percentage of our graduate base, we are going to plant the first club there. Empower U will help get the club started and be actively involved for the first few meetings, then the graduates will take over and run it themselves. The meeting will start at 6:57 pm at the Clarion Hotel Cal Expo and we will bring it to a close by 8:58 pm. It will be an honor to connect, stay connected with other graduates. This monthly “re-charge” allows our graduates the opportunity to connect with other like-minded graduates of Empower U. It will be a social, re-energizing, Empower U centered monthly opportunity to help LIVE what you committed to in Leadership Awakening. There will be a fun process, mingling with other members of the EU Leadership Team, and a chance to make a difference in the community as an organization of committed leaders. Watch future newsletters for more information on other times and locations. Making a Differenceby Sandy Horiuchi, Team 491Last Mother's Day I decided to give back in honor of my mother. I decided to take flowers and distribute them to a nursing home that is close to where I live. So on Sunday morning, I made 2 dozen flower arrangements and took them to the Lincoln Manor Care Facility. I went to the nurse's station and explained what I wanted to do and the nurses smiled and directed me to the activities center where a Mother's Day celebration was taking place. There I met with the activities director, Kathy. At first she was apprehensive that a 'non-family member' would do such a thing. I told her that this was in honor of my mom and with that we passed out the flowers to all of the ladies in attendance. Two of the ladies were so happy and thanked me for the thoughtfulness. It really made my day to see their faces "light up." I am so glad that I did this! |
